Handwritten table to Excel

Turn a handwritten table into Excel cells you can correct. Use a straight, well-lit photo of the grid, then review every value before you download.

Handwritten table to Excel is for a grid that a person filled in with a pen: a lab sheet, an attendance list, an expense log, a field tally, or a form whose printed lines were completed by hand. Image to Excel reads the table that is visible in the image. You then correct any cell the ink made ambiguous and download Excel, or copy the cells.

Handwriting is less regular than print. Plan on a review pass. The tool does not claim that every cursive word or faint digit will be right. If you cannot read a cell in the photo, the result should not be trusted for that cell either.

What works better

  • A real grid, with lines or consistent columns. A free-form paragraph of notes is not a table.
  • Dark ink on a light page, written inside the cells.
  • Print-style letters and digits rather than connected cursive, when you can choose how it was written.
  • One table in the frame. Mixed print labels and handwritten values are fine when the columns still line up.
  • A straight photo. The camera steps live on photo to Excel. A screen capture of a handwritten sheet can also start from screenshot to Excel.

Upload JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. Free allows 3 MB. Pro and Lifetime allow 30 MB. PDF uploads are not accepted. Photograph or export the page as an image first.

How to prepare the page

  1. Fill the frame with the grid. Cut off desk clutter, a second page, and handwriting in the margin that is not part of the table.
  2. Shoot or scan straight above the page. Tilt stretches columns so a value slides into the next cell.
  3. Use even light. A shadow across the last rows hides digits.
  4. If a word is already illegible on paper, rewrite that cell before you capture it, or expect to type it yourself afterward.

What the result will and will not do

Visible text stays in its original language and spelling. Dates and numbers keep the formatting you can see, including leading zeros when they were written. The reader does not translate, total a column, or invent a value for a blank. An empty cell stays empty. A merged header is repeated per column as the most specific label.

It will not turn a sketch, a mind map, or a page of sentences into a workbook. If no table is found, replace the image with a tighter crop of the grid.

Review, then download

Open the converter, upload the image, and compare the result with the page. Check names, amounts, and any digit that could be a 1, 7, or slash. Edit the cell in the result when the ink is unclear. Add or delete rows if a line was skipped or doubled. Then copy the cells or download Excel.
